Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship

For the academic year 2022-2023, applications for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are now available.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are for part-time Master’s study by distance learning on chosen programs offered by UK universities for candidates from least developed, low, and lower-middle-income Commonwealth nations. The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office provides funding for these scholarships.

ABOUT THE COMMONWEALTH DISTANCE LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS

DEADLINE: 15 March 2022.
LEVEL: Online Master.
FINANCING: Tuition fees + study grant.
OPEN TO: Specific countries (see below).
HOST COUNTRY: UK.

ELIGIBILITY

The CSC aims to identify talented individuals who have the potential to make change. To be eligible for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, candidates should:

• Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country (see below), or be a British Protected Person
• Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country.
• Hold a first degree of at least upper second class standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases.
• Be unable to afford to study the program without this scholarship.

The 25 eligible countries listed below can apply for Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships in 2022: Bangladesh, Belize, Cameroon, Eswatini, Ghana, India, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua, New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, The Gambia, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia.

AMOUNT OF THE COMMONWEALTH DISTANCE LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS

A Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships covers:

• Tuition fees.
• Study grants where required.

The CSC does not require any candidates to take an IELTS (English language) test.

HOW TO APPLY TO THE COMMONWEALTH DISTANCE LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS?

At first, you need to apply and secure admission to study an eligible master’s course at a UK university that is participating in the Distance Learning scheme (use links above to apply). You must check with your chosen university for their specific advice on when to apply, admission requirements, and rules for applying.

You can apply for more than one course and/or to more than one university, but you may only accept one offer of a Distance Learning Scholarship.

You can start your application for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships, but you won’t be able to finalize it until you upload the offer letter.

Applications must include the following supporting documentation by 17:00 (GMT) on 5 April 2022 in order for your application to be eligible for consideration:

• At least one reference.
• An offer letter to start the chosen course of study in the 2022-2023 academic year.
• Full transcripts detailing all your higher education qualifications (with certified translations if not in English).

The deadline to apply for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships is 15 March 2022, while the deadline to upload your document is 5 April 2022.
